Update on volunteers

It has been a week since we rolled out our neighbors helping neighbors initiative on The WE ARE Network (goto thethewearenetwork.com to sign up if you need help or if you’d like to volunteer to help).

In that time we have been able to help a handful of people with meals, transportation, and child care. I don’t think we’ve really even started with how much help will be needed in the coming weeks.

Our volunteers now number 79 and continue to grow daily. I’m so thankful for our awesome friends and neighbors who have stepped up already! I’m not surprised at all, though.

I would love to see that number double by the middle of the week and here’s why; this service is now being promoted by Burnett County and Polk County Emergency managers as well as on 211. I believe when the word truly gets out, we’re going to need many more volunteers.

Please consider volunteering. Please consider sharing the service with others as well. Thank you!
