WE ARE here to help

Ok. Let’s breathe for a second and think about what we control and what we don’t right now.

We control, as always, our actions and our attitude.

We do not control school closings, the number of testing kits available, we don’t even control if this is all a huge overreaction or the very best course of action.

I am with you. I do not understand. Why did they cancel this or keep that going? Ultimately, it’s out of my control.

So what can we control? You and me. What can we control?

Our attitude. Our attitude is a choice, plain and simple. What if we choose an attitude of gratitude? Corny? Sure. But it’s what I’m choosing.

I’m grateful for my family. I’m thankful for you, the WE ARE community. I’m thankful that my God will never leave nor forsake me and that through this whole thing He is there and he loves me, and you. That’s why I can be grateful in the unknown.

Our actions. I love our communities. The WE ARE Network has given me such a gift in the fact that I have gotten to meet so many of you. So many. Whether it’s on a broadcast where you let me know you’re watching or in person at a sporting event, concert or some other event we happen to be at. I love it, and I love you.

One thing I’ve noticed over the past three years of this is that we have amazing people here. AMAZING!

We’ve been through some tragedies. Awful tragedies. So we are battle-tested. We know how to band together. We know how to get it done.

So with that, I want to introduce you to what we’re going to be doing on The WE ARE Network from now until we get past this.

When you go to www.thethewearenetwork.com you won’t see our normal page. Instead, you’re going to see a very simple way to help our neighbors and friends. We are going to help bring helpers to the helpless.

Can you help bring groceries to a self-quarantined couple?
Can you bring someone to the clinic or pharmacy or post office?
Can you help prepare meals for those in need?
Can you provide child care for free or minimal cost?

We need volunteers to help with this endeavor all across the WE ARE communities.

There will be a place for you to sign up on our website’s front page. We will have people helping match make and getting you to the right place to help.

Do you know someone who could use some help, but not very computer savvy? Help them out by signing them up on the website.

Go to www.thethewearenetwork.com and follow the simple directions and someone will be in touch with you.

WE ARE going to get through this and we’re going to do together.

God bless.
